The state headquarters in Windsor Mill needs a full or part time administrative assistant to assist the executive director with the administrative details of the ministry. This position includes the management of the CEF office and requires good computer skills. Since funds are not currently available to hire a person for this position, we are looking for a full or part time volunteer or one who is able to raise their salary. CEF of Maryland is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization. We do not receive funding from outside the state. Our financial policy is “Ask God and tell His people”. Funds to run and expand the ministry come from churches and individuals who support us. We need to increase our financial base to include support from Christian businesses. Is fundraising or grant-writing your area of expertise? We would love to form a team of people who can help us raise the necessary funding to expand the ministry so more children can be reached. Grants would be a great blessing if we had someone who could focus on that area.
CEF of Maryland holds several events each year such as training and fundraising events. We need those with organizational and communication skills to lead and participate in these efforts.
Website Maintenance/Social Networking
We are in critical need of a webmaster to maintain our website. We need help with Twitter, YouTube and other social networking in order to get the word out about the opportunities to teach the Good News of the Gospel in our public schools and in other venues.
Our state headquarters building in Windsor Mill is in need of some much needed repairs. If God has given you skills in this area, you could be a great blessing to the ministry. If your church is looking for a project to serve a mission organization, please call us for further information. Please consider CEF of Maryland!
New Maryland State Director
CEF of Maryland is searching for a new state director. To learn more, read the Maryland State Director Position Description.
Board Members (Volunteer positions)
Board members are needed for various chapters throughout Maryland to oversee the ministry in the local area. Board members should have a heart for ministry among children and have initiative and drive to reach children with the Gospel in their county or counties. Board responsibilities include hiring ministry personnel, fundraising, organization and ministry planning. Local boards work under the auspices of the state board of directors. Individuals with business experience as well as those with a ministry heart are needed. Call (410) 944-6835 for details. CEF is a 501(c)(3).
Local Coordinators/Directors are needed to provide leadership for various counties or groups of counties across Maryland. Individuals filling these positions need to be self-starters and have above average communication and interpersonal relationship skills. They must have the ability to mobilize churches to adopt their public elementary schools to establish Good News Clubs and 5-Day Club outreach ministries during the summer months. These can be volunteer or support-raising positions. Area coordinators are urgently needed for the Greater Baltimore Chapter. A ministry coordinator is urgently needed for Montgomery County in which we have seven Good News Clubs with the great opportunity to expand to 134 schools!
CEF of Maryland offers opportunities for individuals to serve in the ministry right here at home on a full time basis. Career missionaries raise financial support to cover their salary and other ministry expenses. Ministry leaders are assigned specific responsibilities in the ministry depending on their giftedness. Often they work closely with the Ambassador team to seek opportunities to open schools and encourage churches to partner with CEF and adopt schools in their neighborhood. (If you feel called to minister to children outside of Maryland, CEF has opportunities in every state in the USA and in over 200 nations. Check out more opportunities on www.cefonline.com.
Good News Club® Ambassadors
We are forming a Good News Club Ambassador leadership team across the state to represent the ministry of CEF. Ambassadors present the Good News Club ministry to pastors, churches and youth groups to recruit teams who will adopt their local community elementary school for an After School Good News Club program. They may also assist in the training of the GNC teams. Ambassadors also meet with school principals and school district personnel, when necessary, to open new schools for GNCs. In addition, ambassadors help organize summer ministries and other efforts to reach children for Christ.
Summer Ministry Coordinators
Various individuals are needed each summer to help coordinate our 5-Day Club summer ministry outreach program across the state. Young people, 14 through college age, teach three 5-Day Clubs (summer Good News Bible Clubs) in neighborhoods, community centers, parks, on sidewalks in inner city areas and anywhere children are found. The summer ministry coordinator finds locations for the clubs and seeks transportation for the young people who will teach them. This is a great ministry for those seeking internship positions from Christian colleges.
